Alexandra Dobrowolsky

Biography

Alexandra Dobrowolsky is a Professor of Political Science at Saint Mary’s University. Her scholarship delves into issues that range from representation, citizenship, and social policy, to immigration, public engagement, and feminist governance. Her last book, Turbulent Times, Transformational Possibilities? Gender and Politics Today and Tomorrow was co-edited with Fiona MacDonald. She was the lead guest editor and contributor to the Canadian Journal of Political Science’s (CJPS) first issue entirely devoted to feminisms. Her recent work is published in: Feministing in Political Science (2024); Feminism’s Fight: Challenging Politics and Policies in Canada since 1970 (2023); Neoliberal Contentions, Diagnosing the Present (2023); and Handbook of Feminist Governance (2023). She is currently working on a research project with Tammy Findlay and Hepzibah Muñoz-Martínez on “governance feminism” in Canada and
Mexico.
