
Jiso Yoon (PhD, Pennsylvania State University) is a political scientist and policy expert on gender and global governance. She is on leave in 2026 from the Korean Women’s Development Institute (KWDI), where she served as Director of the Center for International Cooperation and Development (2022–2025), leading Korea’s international engagement on gender equality and inclusive development.
Her research examines gender and political representation in East Asia and feminist approaches to public policy. She is the author of Advocacy and Policymaking in Korea (State University of New York Press, 2016) and has conducted policy research on South Korea’s implementation of gender-responsive development cooperation, the Beijing Platform for Action, and women, peace, and security, as well as national and global gender governance. Her work has informed national strategies and advanced gender equality through collaborations with organizations such as OECD, APEC, and UN Women.
