Maria Clara Maia

Biography

Maria Clara Maia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Management and is currently a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, with a visiting research period at Concordia University, Canada. She coordinated the Rural Economic Recovery Program of the Novo Acordo Rio Doce within the Federal Government. She was also a researcher at the Fundação João Pinheiro, working in the fields of State, Gender, and Diversity. At the municipal level in Belo Horizonte, she served as Director of Cultural Policies and Social Participation, as well as an advisor at the Municipal Health Department. Additionally, she was a full member of the Municipal Councils for Women’s Rights, Cultural Policy, and the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
